Panic at Sloane Square : Passenger Stabs Himself to Death at Central London Tube Station

 

In a shocking incident at a central London tube station, a passenger reportedly stabbed himself to death in front of horrified commuters. 

Witnesses described scenes of panic and people running from Sloane Square station as the distressing event unfolded.

Following the incident, a significant police presence was observed outside the underground station. 

British Transport Police confirmed that a man had sustained serious, self-inflicted injuries and tragically died at the scene.

A spokesperson from British Transport Police stated that officers responded to reports of the incident and paramedics also attended. 

Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead. The authorities have determined that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

                                                 

An image from the scene depicted a man lying on the platform with a discarded knife on the ground, while two commuters looked on in horror. 

Police formed a human shield to shield the distressing scene from the view of passing trains.

Witnesses shared their accounts on social media, describing the panic and a woman urging others to run. 

The incident left many shaken, with concerns about using the tube in the future.

Local councillor Josh Rendall expressed his condolences and gratitude to the emergency responders involved in managing the tragic situation. 

He extended his thoughts to the family of the deceased and those who may have witnessed the distressing event.

After approximately 45 minutes, the station reopened, allowing normal operations to resume. 

Tory chairman Greg Hands expressed his condolences and acknowledged the distressing nature of the scene. 

He later clarified that the station had been evacuated following the incident.
