Florida Man, Sean Cuesta, Arrested for The Brutal Murder of His Mother

A man from Florida has been arrested and is currently in jail, after being accused of brutally beating and stabbing his mother to death.

According to the North Miami Beach police, they received multiple 911 calls on June 11 just before 9 p.m. and responded to an apartment.

Upon arrival, they found the victim's husband in a distressed state, reporting that his wife, 64-year-old Connie Cuesta, was unresponsive and cold to the touch.

The husband explained to the officers that he discovered his wife lying unconscious, face down on the floor in their master bedroom. She was found without a shirt, and her pants had been pulled down to her knees.

During the investigation, a detective spoke with a neighbor who mentioned hearing "loud banging and yelling" coming from the family's apartment between 10 a.m. and early evening. The neighbor did not contact emergency services until the victim's husband returned home.

The police later interviewed the victim's son, Sean Cuesta, who was present at the crime scene. Officers noticed visible scratches on his arms and a laceration on his forehead.

Sean Cuesta was taken to the police station for questioning, where he allegedly confessed to living with his mother for several weeks. He claimed to have been alone with her all day and left between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to buy dinner.

Based on the available evidence, the officers initially released Sean Cuesta from the police station. However, he immediately went to his aunt's home in Hialeah, where he began displaying strange behavior.

Concerned, his family members contacted law enforcement, resulting in Sean Cuesta being placed under mental health supervision through Florida's Baker Act.

This allowed him to receive emergency mental health services involuntarily due to his mental illness.

A few days later, on June 16, Sean Cuesta was released from the mental health facility. According to his aunt's statement to investigators, he called her twice but she missed the calls. When she called back, his phone was dead.

Eventually, she received a call from him at a gas station where he allegedly confessed, saying, "Meme, I killed my mother," as stated in his arrest report.

Further investigation by the detectives revealed that Sean Cuesta had engaged in a violent altercation with his mother, Connie Cuesta.

He allegedly threw objects around the apartment during the fight and proceeded to strike his mother in the head and face multiple times with various blunt objects, including empty wine bottles found near her body.

Detectives claim that Sean Cuesta also stabbed his mother four times in the head with a knife, which was later discovered inside his backpack.

The arrest report states that the victim bled profusely in the living room and master bedroom, resulting in excessive blood throughout the apartment. In an attempt to clean up the blood, the defendant used a towel and a green rag.

Afterward, Sean Cuesta allegedly showered, changed his clothes, and fled the scene.

The medical examiner confirmed that Connie Cuesta's cause of death was internal bleeding, which caused lacerations to all her internal organs.

Sean Cuesta has been charged with second-degree murder and He is currently being held without bond at the Miami-Dade County jail.
