In a recent intelligence-driven operation, the Cato Manor Task Team and Detectives achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending four suspects connected to a series of armed robberies and a murder spree along the N2 highway, specifically in the Chesterville area.
The suspects employed a dangerous modus operandi that involved throwing stones at vehicles and strategically placing rocks along the freeway to cause accidents.
Once they see the motorist is stranded, they will then rob the innocent victims of their belongings.
Additionally, the suspects have been linked to the murder of a 32-year-old man, whose lifeless body was discovered along the N2 southbound at Wiggins in Cato Manor on July 9, 2023.
The individuals arrested are aged between 20 and 23 years old, and they are expected to face court proceedings soon.
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement authorities anticipate further arrests to bring all culprits to justice.
Police are now urging motorists who have experienced stone-throwing incidents or man-made accidents and punctures along the N2 and other local routes to come forward and provide crucial information to support the investigation.
