Paola Nunez Linares, Victim
Zane Jones, Paola's husband, shared his account of the incident, revealing that he had gestured at the aggressive driver in response to their reckless behavior.
Unbeknownst to him, the driver held a gun and retaliated by firing through their back left window, tragically hitting Paola in the head.
The assailant, driving a small, dark, older-looking car, discharged at least three shots into their minivan, leaving the couple in shock and despair.
Zane immediately pulled off the highway and called 911, but despite their efforts and the prompt response from paramedics, it was too late to save Paola.
Originally from Guatemala, Paola had moved to the United States last year to marry Zane. Her mother, Ana Linares, expressed deep sorrow, highlighting that Paola had found immense happiness in her new life but tragically, it was cut short.
Zane, grieving the loss of his beloved wife, hopes that other witnesses on the road may have witnessed the incident more closely. He wants Paola to be remembered for her loving nature and emphasizes that she was an innocent victim.
In his words, she was exceptional in every way, and her untimely demise on the highway should not overshadow her remarkable qualities.
As the investigation continues, the police are actively searching for the person responsible for this heinous act. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and contact the Hurst Police Department, as justice must be served for Paola and her grieving family.
