Caught on Camera: Philippine Airport Security Officer, Irency Morados, Accused of Swallowing Stolen Money

A security officer in the Philippines is currently under investigation for an alleged theft of $300 from a passenger and an unusual attempt to swallow the stolen cash. 

This incident, which took place on September 8th, involves a female security officer working at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1. She is accused of taking money from a departing Chinese passenger during a manual bag inspection.

Security camera footage captured the security screening officer (SSO) Irency Morados diverting her attention from another passenger and discreetly placing something into her waist area. According to a report by airport authorities, X-ray operator Regino Allen Pollante handed a bottle of water to Morados during this incident, and she appeared "edgy and restless." 


This raised suspicions of possible collaboration between them. In a surprising turn of events, Morados was observed attempting to swallow the stolen bills, all the while her supervisor, Abraham de Luna, seemed to be communicating with her, as noted in the report.




In response to this incident, de Luna, Morados, and Pollante have been suspended, and their access passes have been revoked. An ongoing investigation seeks to uncover the full extent of the alleged theft and identify any potential accomplices. 

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista has authorized the Office of Transportation Security (OTS) to take immediate action, including filing charges and imposing the "maximum penalty" on all those involved.

Although it remains uncertain whether the passenger, known as Mr. Cai, will pursue criminal charges, airport authorities have already collaborated with the Philippine National Police's Aviation Security Group to address the situation.
