A harrowing incident in Chesapeake, Virginia, has left a 14-year-old dead and four others injured as a result of a shooting, according to local law enforcement.
Following the shooting that occurred on a Saturday afternoon, all five victims were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, as detailed in a press release from the Chesapeake Police Department.
Sadly, the 14-year-old victim succumbed to their injuries the following Sunday, as confirmed by the police.
Among the other victims, there were two male juveniles and two adult males affected by this distressing event.
Emergency dispatches received a call shortly after 5 p.m. on the Saturday, reporting gunshots fired in a residential neighborhood, according to the police.
At present, there are no identified suspects, and authorities are urgently appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
They are actively treating the scene as an ongoing crime investigation and have announced a reward of $1,500 for any information that leads to an arrest, as outlined in the press release.
