In Rwanda, a 34-year-old man named Denis Kazungu has shockingly confessed to the gruesome murders of 14 people, with a majority of his victims being women. This horrifying revelation came to light during a recent court hearing held at the Kicukiro Court in the capital city, Kigali.
Kazungu, who appeared eerily emotionless throughout the proceedings, openly admitted to a litany of charges, including murder, rape, and robbery.
As he was led into the courtroom by the police, a chilling smile played upon his lips, but any other trace of emotion seemed conspicuously absent.
Disturbingly, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of 12 victims at Kazungu's residence, adding further horror to the already gruesome narrative. Even more troubling is the fact that he confessed to having taken the lives of two additional individuals, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
Among the 14 victims, 11 were women, and one was a man, according to law enforcement. The gender of the two other victims, acknowledged by Kazungu but not immediately identified, remains a mystery.
Notably, Kazungu appeared in court without legal representation, a fact that has raised eyebrows within the legal community. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, where the full extent of his actions will likely be further scrutinized.
The police investigation suggests that Kazungu employed a sinister tactic, luring unsuspecting individuals from local bars to his home in a quiet Kigali suburb.
While the identities of his victims have yet to be officially disclosed, one courageous woman has come forward in local media interviews, recounting her harrowing escape from the clutches of Kazungu.
In a bid to obscure his true identity, authorities allege that the suspect used various aliases.
The gruesome discovery of the bodies was made when Kazungu's landlord, faced with unpaid rent, sought assistance from the authorities, unknowingly unearthing a horrifying crime spree.
In another news, a man from Washington state, aged 76, was recently captured in Nevada after attempting to euthanize his own dog in the desert by claiming that the animal was unwell. See detailed story here
