Last monday afternoon, law enforcement officers responded to a residence in downtown Dallas, where they found the lifeless body of Jenean Chapman, aged 46, according to the Dallas Police Department. The subsequent day, the medical examiner's office classified her demise as a homicide, confirmed the Dallas police.

Jenean Chapman had previously served as an assistant to Duchess Sarah Ferguson, as acknowledged in a social media post by Ferguson herself.

Expressing her shock and sorrow at Chapman's passing, Ferguson described Jenean as loyal, hardworking, beautiful, and enjoyable to be around. She conveyed her heartfelt condolences to Chapman's friends and family and recalled speaking to her a couple of months ago when she appeared content.

In a Wednesday update, Dallas police revealed they had identified a suspect in the case, subsequently taking 48-year-old James Patrick into custody in Austin, located about 200 miles southwest of Dallas.

Authorities have lodged a murder charge against him, and, as of Saturday afternoon, he remains detained with a bond set at $100,000, as indicated by jail records.

The Dallas police have not disclosed a motive for the incident and have not provided details regarding any potential connection between Chapman and the suspect, leaving unanswered questions about their relationship.
