Luydiane Jamille Miranda,: Brazilian Woman's Mysterious Disappearance Ends in Grisly Cement Bed Discovery

 

A body has been discovered encased in cement within a bed, suspected to be that of a missing woman who had a falling out with her boyfriend.

Luydiane Jamille Miranda, a resident of Pedras de Fogo, Brazil, was last heard from on October 4. She had recently ended her relationship with her husband, Sergio, and had informed her family of her intention to visit her grandmother. It was only last Tuesday that her family reported her as missing to the authorities.

The next day, the police visited the bar where she had been employed and found the body of a woman encased in a concrete structure that was integrated into a bed. According to local media, the concrete was less than a week old, and it filled the lower part of the bed while a mattress covered the top to conceal the body.

Following the removal of the concrete, a detailed examination confirmed the identity of the woman as Luydiane, primarily based on her tattoos. Hugo Helder, the investigating officer, stated, "We conducted a search, and in one of the rooms, we found a bed concreted with relatively recent cement, about seven days ago. We broke the cement with the permission of the property owner and discovered the victim's body there."

"We noticed that one of the beds ... had a top recently filled with cement. We lifted it up, broke the cement, and detected a very strong odor," he added. "We called in forensics, who discovered the body inside. The body has identifiable tattoos. We conducted an initial examination, and some of the names on her leg match the names of her children."

At the scene were the victim's partner and brother-in-law, both of whom have been arrested, as reported. The body will undergo examination at the Forensic Police Institute to conclusively establish the victim's identity.

Luydiane's mother informed the media that she had been living with her partner for a month, and they were running a bar previously owned by his brother. An argument had erupted between the two over the bar's ownership, leading to Luydiane's decision to break up with her partner and leave. 

Although she took her son's mobile phone with her, Luydiane's family was unable to reach her.
