In Missouri, just a week after allegedly assaulting a police officer, a 26-year-old woman found herself in hot water again, this time accused of attacking a fellow inmate. The shocking incident took place inside a correctional facility during lunchtime. The aggressor, Raven C. Gomez, resorted to using a meal tray, gripping her victim's hair, and even weaponizing her broken eyeglasses. Thankfully, the quick thinking of the jail staff prevented a tragic outcome.
The charges against Gomez include attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, and criminal damage to property, as announced by the Allen County Kansas Sheriff's Office in a press release. She and her boyfriend, Brandon David, had been taken into custody on October 18th after an altercation with a Jasper, Missouri, officer the day before.
While in the Allen County Jail following her arrest, Gomez's violent tendencies didn't subside. During the noon meal period, she targeted another female inmate, causing her to fall to the ground and shattering her eyeglasses, possibly by stomping on them. Gomez then employed a piece of the broken glasses as a weapon, striking her victim in the face, neck, head, and body. Fortunately, the injuries were not fatal, but the intent was clear – Gomez admitted to wanting to kill the other inmate.
This disturbing incident came on the heels of Gomez's initial arrest for assaulting a police officer just days earlier. During that encounter, she allegedly punched the officer in the face and forced her to the ground. Her boyfriend, Brandon David, also got involved, delivering a powerful blow before attempting to escape in the officer's patrol car. The officer, who suffered facial injuries and had her feet run over, was left bruised and with a sprained foot.
Law enforcement acted swiftly to identify and apprehend Gomez and David, tracking them down to David's parents' residence. David, already on parole with a previous conviction for attacking a corrections officer, found himself back in trouble with the law. They were eventually found hiding in a bus on the property and surrendered to authorities.
