Kenyan authorities recently nabbed a phony lawyer named Brian Mwenda, who had been pretending to be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and claimed to have won 26 cases.
He was caught red-handed after handling these cases in front of High Court Judges, Magistrates, and Court of Appeal Judges.
The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Nairobi Branch Rapid Action Team (RAT) stepped in when they received complaints from the public.
They disclosed on their social media account that Mr. Mwenda was not a licensed lawyer in Kenya and had been falsely representing himself as one.
The notice stated, "The LSK Nairobi Branch has received reports through the Rapid Action Team (RAT) that this individual has been falsely portraying himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch."
