Louisiana Teacher Arrested: Facing Charges of Rape and Sexual Battery After She Delivered a Child For Her Student

In a disturbing incident that has garnered widespread attention, a 33-year-old female teacher from Louisiana has been arrested and is now facing charges of rape and sexual battery. These allegations stem from her alleged involvement in a relationship that resulted in the birth of a child with one of her students.

The reported incidents date back approximately two years.

Morgan Freche, aged 33, found herself arrested on Tuesday, October 3rd, following an investigation that led to the issuance of several warrants for her arrest in Tangipahoa Parish.

The troubling allegations first came to public knowledge on September 24th, when reports surfaced that Freche had become pregnant with a child fathered by a 17-year-old student. Sheriff Daniel Edwards made these allegations public.

In response to the gravity of these accusations, Morgan Freche took the decision to resign from her position within the parish's school system at Loranger High School. It's important to note that she left her role without her identity being publicly disclosed.

Subsequently, on  Tuesday, she voluntarily turned herself in to authorities and was formally charged. These charges include counts of third-degree rape, oral sexual battery, as well as four counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Sheriff Edwards, while recognizing the inability to share specific investigation details, confirmed that the allegations were addressed promptly. He stressed that the investigative process had been exhaustive and meticulous.

George R. Tucker, an attorney representing the victim, expressed the family's relief at the charges brought against Freche. He indicated that their focus will now be on ensuring the boy receives therapy. Additionally, Tucker hinted at the possibility of pursuing further charges, suggesting that there may be more to the story than initially reported.

Tangipahoa Parish School Superintendent Melissa Stilley released a statement in which she acknowledged that the school district had no prior knowledge of these allegations until they were officially reported. She underlined the confidential nature of personnel and student matters, emphasizing the utmost importance of student safety and the appropriate conduct of school district employees.

Stilley firmly asserted that there was no place within their school system for behavior of the kind alleged in this case. She stressed that neither the Board nor her office would tolerate employee behavior that crosses the line in terms of professional relationships between educators and their students.

The school district is cooperating fully with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation.

In contrast, Tucker, the victim's attorney, raised questions about whether the parish had prior knowledge of the situation but failed to take appropriate action.

He expressed their intention to investigate why the family was not informed earlier, revealing that they had received information from the superintendent's family and two Loranger employees, but no official reports were made.
