Promotion Celebration Turns Violent: Navy Chief Petty Officer, Kyle Rogemoser, Arrested and Charged in Girlfriend's Assault During His Promotion Dinnner

In Jacksonville, Florida, a U.S. Navy chief petty officer found himself in handcuffs after reportedly assaulting his girlfriend during his promotion dinner. The incident unfolded around midnight at the DoubleTree hotel on Riverplace Boulevard. 

Kyle Rogemoser, a 36-year-old celebrating his promotion to chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy, was arrested and charged with domestic battery, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police responded to the scene shortly before 12:30 a.m., encountering Rogemoser, who displayed a blood spot on his neck. His mugshot from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office revealed a red mark on the left side of his neck.

Rogemoser was taken into custody, placed in the back of a police car, and read his Miranda Rights, although he claimed not to comprehend his rights due to being "extremely intoxicated," as documented in the affidavit.

A deputy spoke with the victim, identified as Rogemoser's girlfriend, who reported that they had arrived at the DoubleTree around 5 p.m. and shared a drink. As the evening progressed, a verbal argument erupted in their hotel room, leading to Rogemoser allegedly punching her in the mouth three times.

The woman, seeking assistance, called for help, and a Good Samaritan knocked on the door, ultimately taking her downstairs to hotel management until the police were notified. 

This witness informed the officers that he heard cries for help and knocked on the door, discovering the woman on the floor in distress with red marks on her face.

The woman expressed her desire to have her injuries documented. Upon inspection, officers noticed red marks on her chin and neck, along with what appeared to be fresh blood on her lip.

Rogemoser was taken to the Pre-trial Detention Facility without incident, and bond was set at $5,003. He has since been released.
