In Philadelphia, three police officers got shot on Wednesday evening, and a suspect ended up dead, as reported. They were rushed to the hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening, and they're awake and talking, as per FOX 29, which cited info from law enforcement sources, including a police commander.
The incident took place in the northeast part of the city, where one officer was hit in the hand, and the other two were shot in the arm. Two of the officers are men, and one is a woman, as reported by FOX 29.
Details regarding whether the suspect was killed by the police or what led to the shooting around 7 p.m. at the 7500 block of Whitaker Avenue remained unclear.
Philadelphia, like many other U.S. cities, has been dealing with a rise in crime in recent years. The city recorded over 500 homicides in the last two years, with an overall increase in crime of nearly 16% year-to-date, according to data from the Philadelphia Police Department.

Her business has hired armed guards, and she mentioned that crime is still a prevalent issue in the area. She highlighted the uncertainty surrounding reopening a beloved business and not knowing who their customers might be.
