In Michigan, a 60-year-old man, Scott Allen Schultz, with a history of sex-related crimes, is facing potential life imprisonment after being captured on surveillance cameras attempting to break into multiple homes in a residential area and engaging in indecent exposure. Schultz, a habitual felony fourth offender, was apprehended and charged with three counts of first-degree attempted home invasion and one count of indecent exposure by a sexually delinquent person.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office highlighted the seriousness of such actions, emphasizing the violation of personal boundaries and the threat to community safety. Schultz's potential sentence may be significantly increased due to his habitual offender status.
Deputies from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of Schultz attempting to break into houses on Market Street in Mount Clemens. He allegedly tried to enter three homes, exposed himself to a Ring Doorbell camera, and masturbated when unsuccessful. Schultz interrupted his court appearance, expressing a desire for release to continue his "mission," which the judge promptly halted.
Schultz is currently held on a $500,000 bond. Cmdr. Jason Abro of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office expressed relief at Schultz's detention, noting the alarming nature of the information uncovered about his motives. Authorities encourage anyone with information about Schultz's actions to contact the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.
