According To Authorities, Man, Kevin Kangethe fatally Stabs His Girlfriend and abandons Her Body in a Vehicle at an Airport Parking Garage Before Boarding a Flight to Kenya

A man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, leaving her bloodied body in his car at a Boston Logan International Airport garage before boarding a flight to Kenya, as stated by authorities.

According to reports, the body of 31-year-old Margaret Mbitu was discovered by authorities in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in the Central Parking Garage on Wednesday evening. 

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the suspect, Kevin Kangethe, 40, with authorities confirming that the victim and the perpetrator were acquainted, and the incident was not a random act. Authorities assured the public that there is no danger to either the general public or travelers at Logan Airport.

Documentation related to the arrest warrant, obtained by Boston's ABC affiliate WCVB, outlined the details of the discovery of Mbitu's body and the evidence linking Kangethe to her murder. 

Troopers found her with significant slash wounds on her face and neck, along with a puncture wound on her side. The warrant application also mentioned the presence of a considerable amount of blood inside the vehicle.

According to officials, Kangethe purchased tickets to Kenya on the day after Mbitu was reported missing by her family, with surveillance footage capturing his movements and the location of Mbitu's cellphone in the same vicinity. Video footage showed him exiting the parking garage and proceeding to check in for a flight at the airport.

Mbitu's mother, Rose Mbitu, expressed her devastation to Boston's Fox affiliate WFXT, stating that her daughter had been attempting to end her relationship with her boyfriend. 

Meanwhile, Brockton Area Multi-Services Inc. (BAMSI) and the SAFE Coalition, organizations where Mbitu was employed, both issued statements mourning her loss and praising her character and contributions.

Virginia Ndunga, Mbitu's cousin, described her as a kind-hearted and amiable person, expressing the family's profound grief over the tragic incident.
