Two individuals face charges following an accidental shooting incident that occurred in the parking lot of Middle Smithfield Elementary School back in October.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Ana Karen De Los Santos faces multiple charges including endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, possession of a prohibited firearm, and possession of a weapon on school grounds.

Winslow Jimenez Zabala has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.

On October 4th, the incident unfolded when a 3-year-old child, left unattended in a vehicle with their 11-year-old sibling by De Los Santos, reportedly discharged a firearm while she went to pick up one of her children at Middle Smithfield Elementary School.

The firearm, identified as a 9mm Glock, was allegedly left in an unlocked case within the vehicle by her fiancé, Jimenez Zabala.
