Audience members tuning in to a Facebook livestream witnessed a real-time event as an Alabama SWAT team apprehended Auburn Renee Moore, 36, a murder suspect, in her residence. Moore is accused, alongside 35-year-old Jordan Cesar Hernandez, of breaking into a Moulton home with the intent to rob, leading to the tragic shooting of Dustin Grimes, who heroically defended his wife. After robbing the home and kidnapping Grimes' wife, she managed to escape, seeking refuge in a nearby convenience store, where she contacted law enforcement.
Following the incident, authorities identified Moore and Hernandez as suspects, obtaining warrants for their arrest. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office SWAT executed Moore's warrant at her Decatur home, capturing the dramatic confrontation on a livestream. Moore, holding a Bible and a phone, refused to comply with SWAT's orders, expressing disbelief in the presence of a warrant. Despite invoking divine assistance, the SWAT team forcibly entered, arresting Moore, who insisted on the presence of a child in the home.
In a subsequent event, Decatur Police spotted Hernandez in a vehicle on Sunday, leading to a pursuit during which he allegedly fired shots at officers. Following a crash, Hernandez fled into a wooded area, tracked by K-9 units for approximately three miles before being apprehended. Hernandez now faces an attempted murder charge for firing at the police.
Both Hernandez and Moore are in custody, while authorities seek a third unidentified individual implicated in the murder and robbery.
