In Arizona, a man has been taken into custody on suspicion of fatally injuring his brother, as reported by authorities on Monday. The incident involving the death of 45-year-old George Thomas Morgan initially began as a missing persons case, initiated by the Phoenix Police Department.
According to officials, George had engaged in "repeated physical altercations" with his 44-year-old brother, Michael John Morgan, at their residence on November 11.
Subsequently, Michael Morgan was apprehended and faced various charges, including murder, according to the police. The confrontations occurred between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., as stated by law enforcement.
A section of the Phoenix Police statement revealed, "The repeated incidents ended, and neither were seen for a period of time. When Michael returned to the residence, but George did not, [it caused] family to report George missing on November 12, 2023."
Details of the specific altercation leading to George Morgan's death have not been disclosed by authorities. The case transitioned from missing persons to homicide investigation after detectives identified suspicious circumstances.
The statement noted, "Homicide assumed the investigation and eventually established probable cause to arrest Michael for being responsible for the death of George. Michael was booked on multiple charges to include murder." Notably, the remains of George Morgan have not been located, according to the police.
