Captured on Camera: Shocking Footage Alllegedly Ties Suspect, Samuel Bond Haskell IV to Disturbing Torso Discovery in Encino
In a recently surfaced video, a man believed to be Samuel Bond Haskell IV, aged 35, is captured on surveillance footage disposing of a large bag at a parking lot near Ventura Boulevard and Rubio Avenue in Encino.
The video, obtained by TMZ, seemingly connects him to the grim discovery of a woman's torso, identified as Mei Haskell, 37, who is reported to be the suspect's wife, according to information from the Los Angeles Police Department.
The footage unfolds as the suspect arrives at the parking lot in a white SUV, positioning it next to a dumpster. Exiting the vehicle, he walks toward a gated enclosure, opens it, and proceeds to the car trunk.
After a brief scan of the area, he retrieves a sizable black bag from the trunk, visibly struggling with its weight before managing to lift it. The suspect then walks towards the dumpster enclosure, spends a moment inside, and closes the gate before returning to his SUV, making a turn, and leaving the parking lot.
The discovery of Mei Haskell's torso, concealed in a black bag within a duffel bag in the same dumpster shown in the TMZ video, was made by a man collecting recyclables on November 8. Initial suspicions about Samuel arose when landscapers reported seeing possible body parts in bags outside Haskell's Tarzana residence.
This revelation prompted an investigation, revealing surveillance footage of laborers handling bags the day before the torso discovery, eventually opting not to dispose of them.
The bags were absent when the police arrived, but upon returning after the discovery of the torso, investigators uncovered blood and evidence consistent with a violent crime and dismemberment within Haskell's Tarzana home.
Samuel Haskell IV was arrested on November 8 at the Topanga Mall and charged with one count of murder. The son of high-profile Hollywood agent Samuel Haskell III, Samuel IV lived with his wife, three young sons, and Mei's parents in a six-bedroom home on Coldstream Terrace.
Mei, along with her parents, remains missing, and Samuel is currently detained without bail, facing murder charges. The search for additional human remains and the whereabouts of Mei's parents continues.
Authorities are also seeking two missing SUVs associated with the family, a white Volkswagen Tiguan (California plate: 9ANC890) and a white Nissan Pathfinder (California plate: 7FRM190).
The couple's three young sons have been relocated from their schools following the gruesome discovery and are now under the care of relatives. As investigations persist, the LAPD urges anyone with information to contact them at 1-877-275-5273.
