Colorado Authorities Search for Shooter, Hanme K. Clark After Shooting Spree Amid Property Dispute Leaves 3 Dead
Police are actively seeking Hanme K. Clark, 45, a Colorado man suspected of shooting four people, resulting in three fatalities and one seriously wounded individual, amidst an ongoing property dispute.
Described as 6'3" tall, around 200 pounds, Clark is believed to be traveling in a covered white Dodge Ram 1500 with the license plate number BHLK27, possibly accompanied by a dark-haired woman, as per the authorities' alert.
Custer County Sheriff Rich Smith informed 11 News that they have leads on Clark's whereabouts and are coordinating efforts with another law enforcement agency for his arrest.
Reports emerged on Monday around 1 p.m. of a shooting at 173 Rocky Ridge Road, about eight miles northeast of Westcliffe, in a remote wooded area, prompting swift response from Custer County Sheriff's Department.
Due to the location's remoteness, the first SWAT team deputy arrived about 25 minutes later, initiating a high-risk entry to assess the situation, as detailed in the department's press release.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered two men and a woman deceased, while a critically injured woman was airlifted to a hospital in Colorado Springs, expected to survive her injuries, as per reports provided to CBS 11 News by Sheriff Smith.
The department noted an ongoing property dispute between Clark and one of the victims, shedding light on a possible motive for the shooting. Meanwhile, a shelter-in-place directive has been issued in the Salida area as authorities continue their search for the suspected assailant.
Due to this directive, school buses will not be operating within the shelter-in-place zone, although clarity regarding school closures in the Salida School District was not available when approached by Fox News Digital.
