Michigan Woman Arrested: Puppy Abandoned in Escape from Police Crash

A 25-year-old Michigan woman, Selena Maria Martin, found herself in police custody after allegedly causing a traffic crash, abandoning a puppy in a construction dumpster, and attempting to escape authorities last week. The Farmington Hills Police Department reported that Martin was arrested on Nov. 8 for driving on a suspended license, speeding, and refusing to stop for police, ultimately resulting in a crash.

Records from Fox 2 Detroit reveal that Martin has a history of convictions for fleeing and eluding police, with incidents occurring on Aug. 5, 2021, and Sept. 10, 2021.

Upon apprehension, Martin disclosed to the police that she and a 14-year-old passenger left a puppy in a construction dumpster to expedite their escape. Authorities launched a search and successfully recovered the unharmed puppy. Subsequently, a community member adopted the puppy.

It is worth noting that no injuries were reported for the occupants of the vehicle that was struck by the suspects. The Farmington Hills Police Department, as of now, has not provided additional comments on the incident.
