In Pilot Point, Texas, an employee of the school district has been arrested and charged with the alleged grooming of a teenage student, resulting in his termination from the position, as per the police.
The Pilot Point Independent School District Police Department, in a statement, disclosed that 35-year-old Javier Errisuriz, who worked as an athletic trainer in the school district, faces charges of child grooming, categorized as a third-degree felony in Texas.
The police were informed of potential criminal conduct between Errisuriz and a 17-year-old student on October 30, 2023.
The accusations suggest that the trainer's inappropriate behavior with the student dates back to September 2023. Once notified, the school district placed Errisuriz on administrative leave, prompting a criminal investigation by the police.
While the investigation is ongoing, evidence presented to district officials led to Errisuriz's employment termination on November 2, 2023.
Subsequently, on November 10, 2023, Errisuriz was arrested and booked into Denton County Jail. A judge set his bond at $25,000, and records from Denton County Jail indicate that the bond has been posted.
Errisuriz had been employed with the Pilot Point ISD from July 2023 until November 2023, specifically at Pilot Point High School. Before this, he worked at Canyon Lake High School in Comal ISD and Keller High School in Keller ISD.
