True Crime Obsessed Woman, Jung Yoo-jung Jailed for Life For killing and Dismembering a Female Tutor

A young South Korean woman who killed and dismembered a female tutor she met online has been sentenced to life in prison.

23-year-old Jung Yoo-jung was convicted of murder, desecration, and abandonment of a corpse. She was also sentenced to wear a tracking device for 30 years.

The judge at the Busan District Court said that Yoo-jung committed the murder "despite not knowing her beforehand for her own perverse reasons."

Yoo-jung had met the victim on a tutoring app, where she had posed as a mother looking for someone to teach her daughter English.

After arriving at the victim's home, Yoo-jung stabbed her multiple times and then dismembered her body. She then took a taxi to dispose of some of the body parts in the woods.

Police were alerted to Yoo-jung's suspicious behavior by the taxi driver. They then discovered partial body parts in the woods and additional body parts at Yoo-jung's home.

Yoo-jung's browsing history showed that she had searched how to kill and ways to get rid of a body in the months leading up to the murder.

The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was 26 years old.
