In a shocking case of alleged child sexual abuse, authorities in Florida arrested a 75-year-old man accused of using puppies to lure children into his home and then exposing himself to them.
Alberto Nunez-Arias was apprehended Wednesday and charged with one count of lewd or lascivious exhibition after an 11-year-old girl revealed to her church group that Nunez-Arias had exposed himself to her the year before.
According to the arrest affidavit, Nunez-Arias is being held without bond until his court appearance. Additionally, he is prohibited from contacting the young victim or approaching within 500 feet of her residence.
Authorities described Nunez-Arias as a "psychopathic pervert" who preyed on children using his animals. They suspect he may have victimized others over the years, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The investigation began when the 11-year-old girl bravely spoke up. She had purchased a puppy from Nunez-Arias, who was known to breed animals. When the puppy returned to his home, she followed it inside, unaware of the danger that awaited her.
Inside Nunez-Arias' trailer home, the young girl was allegedly subjected to unwanted physical contact and sexual advances. He reportedly began massaging her shoulders without permission before exposing himself and asking her to touch him.
Frightened and confused, the girl initially kept the incident a secret. It wasn't until a church meeting about sex trafficking that she felt empowered to share her story. She revealed that Nunez-Arias had threatened to harm her father if she ever spoke out.
Initially denying the allegations, Nunez-Arias later claimed he was drunk and his pants accidentally fell down. Authorities remain skeptical and are actively investigating if Nunez-Arias has harmed other children.
A total of 28 animals were rescued from his home, including dogs, cats, and chickens. The animals are currently being cared for at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast.
