Former NBA G League Player, Chance Comanche Confesses to Woman's Strangulation using a Television Cord, Faces Murder Charges, Police Report

Chance Comanche, a former NBA G League player, is facing murder accusations after allegedly confessing to kidnapping and killing a woman in Las Vegas with his ex-girlfriend, per court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Las Vegas police had suspected Comanche, 27, and Sakari Harnden, 19, of Marayna Rodgers' murder, reported missing on Dec. 7. Comanche, who played for Stockton Kings, was arrested in Sacramento on Dec. 15, while Harnden was apprehended two days prior in Las Vegas.

Rodgers' body was discovered after Comanche's arrest, as detailed in a warrant. A friend reported Rodgers missing, mentioning her meeting with Harnden, expressing concern due to Harnden's connections to violence.

According to the warrant, Comanche admitted to killing Rodgers with Harnden, revealing their plan to lure her by offering money for escort services. Harnden allegedly mentioned "kinky sex" and proposed tying Rodgers, leading to a fatal strangulation by both Comanche and Harnden.

They confessed to dumping the body in a ditch before returning to Comanche's team hotel. Harnden faces kidnapping and murder charges, with a court appearance set for Feb. 8. Comanche remains in Sacramento awaiting extradition to Nevada.

The Sacramento Kings released Comanche on Dec. 15, the same day of his arrest, and the incident occurred just before a Stockton Kings game near Las Vegas. Comanche, standing at 6-foot-10, previously played college basketball at Arizona and had a brief NBA stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.
