A woman who has accused actor Jamie Foxx of sexual assault has requested that her identity remain hidden in a lawsuit against him.
The woman, identified only as "Jane Doe" in court documents, claims that Foxx assaulted her in 2015 at a New York City nightclub. She alleges that Foxx touched her breasts and vagina without her consent.
Doe is suing Foxx for unspecified damages, including compensation for pain and suffering, emotional distress, and medical expenses. She is also suing the nightclub where the alleged assault took place, Catch NYC & Roof, for negligence.
Foxx has denied the allegations, calling them "baseless and untrue." He has also denied that he was ever at the nightclub where the alleged assault took place.
The lawsuit is being filed under New York's Adult Survivors Act, which allows victims of sexual abuse to file lawsuits that would otherwise be barred by the statute of limitations. The act was passed in 2022 and gave victims a one-year window to file lawsuits.
The lawsuit is still ongoing, and no trial date has been set.
