Social Justice advocate Michael Latt Was Tragically Killed By a Woman Who Targeted Him Due to His Friendship With a Woman She was Stalking

The 33-year-old CEO of Lead With Love was fatally shot at his Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles residence during a Monday evening home invasion, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Jameelah Elena Michl, 36, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.

"On November 27, Michl allegedly targeted the victim for being friends with a woman she had been stalking," the statement reads.

Prosecutors allege that Michl knocked on the door and forced her way into the residence once it was opened by one of the occupants. Armed with a semi-automatic handgun, Michl is accused of shooting and killing Latt inside the home.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the victim, emphasizing the need to address the broader issues that contribute to such tragedies.

Her arraignment has been scheduled for Dec. 15 at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center. If convicted, Michl faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. Prosecutors recommended that she be held on a $3 million bond.

Latt was the son of Hollywood producers David Latt and Michelle Satter and the brother of a Creative Arts Agency agent, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Police also alleged that another person was present in the residence during the burglary.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of the victim, and we will work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served for this heinous crime," Gascón said.
