Texas Ankle Monitor-Wearing Suspect, Roger Gonzalez Arrested in Brutal Assault

In a horrifying incident, a Texas man is accused of brutally assaulting a woman, leaving her severely injured and dumped in a pasture. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Roger Gonzalez, was reportedly wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the attack.

The incident unfolded on Friday when deputies responded to a report of an injured woman found on the side of a road in San Antonio. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered a woman who had been severely beaten, stabbed multiple times, and had a slashed throat.

The victim, who remains in serious but stable condition in a hospital, was reportedly left for dead, rolled up in plastic in a pasture.

Investigators worked throughout the night and following morning to track down Gonzalez, who was eventually arrested at a home on the same street where the victim lives. Authorities believe Gonzalez and the victim were in a relationship.

Gonzalez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony. His bond was initially set at $40,000, but after his arrest, the judge raised it to $275,000. He remains in custody in the Atascosa County Jail.
