Texas High School Basketball Player and Brother Arrested for Attacking Coach After Benching

A Texas high school basketball player named Jevin Allen, 17, was benched during a game for bad behavior towards a player on the opposing team. This decision enraged Allen and his family, who waited for the coach in the parking lot after the game.

When the coach arrived, Jevin and his family confronted him. The situation escalated quickly, with Jevin allegedly punching the coach in the face. Jarrick Allen, 22, Jevin's brother, also joined in the assault.

Thankfully, another coach and several bystanders witnessed the incident and intervened, breaking up the fight before it could escalate further. The suspects then fled the scene.

Authorities reviewed video surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses, which corroborated the victim's statement. The suspects were later apprehended and charged with assault on a public servant. Each were released on a $23,000 bond.

In a statement, the school district confirmed that the coach is recovering well and that Jevin Allen is no longer enrolled in the school.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of unchecked anger and violence. It also highlights the importance of proper communication and conflict resolution, especially in high-pressure environments like sports.
