Tragedy in Queens: Woman Found Dead after Alleged Tenant Dispute

A 55-year-old woman, Zoraida Leo, was discovered deceased in her Queens apartment on Tuesday afternoon. The New York City Police Department responded to a call at around 5:15 PM and found Leo unconscious and unresponsive within her home.

Authorities confirmed scratches on Leo's face and pronounced her dead at the scene. Subsequent investigation led police to identify Davi Vidal, a 19-year-old resident in the same apartment building, as a suspect.

Vidal, residing on the floor above Leo, has been accused of murder. According to law enforcement, Vidal had reportedly stopped paying rent and engaged in a confrontation with Leo prior to the incident.

Following his arraignment in Queens Criminal Court, Vidal remains detained without bail. Representatives from the Queens District Attorney's Office and the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner have yet to provide comment.
