Golden Globe Winner Accused of Rape, Fired from Latest Film

French actor-director Samuel Theis, star of the recent Golden Globe-winning film "Anatomy of a Fall," has been accused of rape by a crew member on his latest project. He has been fired from the film as a result.

Theis, known for his role as Samuel Maleski in the critically acclaimed film, allegedly assaulted a crew member on the set of his new movie, "Je Te Jure," back in July 2023. The incident is reported to have taken place at a crew party where the crew was staying.

The crew member, who has not been publicly identified, claims they were too drunk to consent to any sexual activity with Theis. They say they stayed the night at the party apartment and woke up the next morning to find themselves being assaulted. Theis, however, denies the accusations and claims the encounter was consensual.

His lawyer, Marie Dosé, says she has not been contacted regarding any official investigation and that the only investigation conducted was a 300-page internal inquiry commissioned by the film's production company. The investigation, according to Dosé, concluded that there was no evidence of sexual assault and even suggests a witness saw Theis and the accuser in a "tender moment."

Despite the internal investigation, the crew member quit the production immediately after the incident. This prompted the production company, Avenue B Productions, to take further action. They hired an independent organization to conduct a separate internal investigation among the cast and crew.

After interviewing cast and crew members, Avenue B Productions decided to continue filming, but with Theis being replaced as director. He was allowed to finish directing remotely but was not allowed any contact with the cast or crew.

Theis has not yet responded to the accusations, and his representatives have not commented on the situation.
