Husband Arrested With $100,000 Cash In Las Vegas, After Wife Found Dead in Pennsylvania

In a shocking twist, a man was nabbed in a Las Vegas casino after his wife's body was discovered back in Pennsylvania, raising suspicion of a deadly domestic tragedy.

Authorities confirmed that Arthur Guty Jr. was arrested on Tuesday, just days after his wife, Nicole Zambrano, was found lifeless at their home in Uniontown. The discovery came after Nicole's colleagues at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort reported her missing when she didn't show up for work for several days.

A welfare check at the couple's home on Friday sparked the investigation, as Guty's inconsistent explanations about Nicole's whereabouts raised red flags. Lt. Thomas Kolencik of the Uniontown Police Department shared, "He couldn't explain the whereabouts of his wife, and when he did give us information, it wasn't accurate."

Tragically, Nicole was found with a gunshot wound at the home, leading authorities to believe her death was no accident. "We believe Nicole's murder was intentional and premeditated," stated Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele, vowing to "secure the justice Nicole deserves."

Adding to the suspicion, Guty was found at the Mardi Gras Casino in Las Vegas, carrying a hefty $100,000 in cash. Police traced his phone to the area, leading to his arrest. This, coupled with Aubele's statement that Guty "was on his way out of the country with a significant amount of cash and was going to avoid, or try to avoid, any responsibility for what happened here," paints a grim picture of his potential motive.

The investigation is still ongoing, with Guty facing charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault. While the community grapples with this heartbreaking event, Lieutenant Kolencik expressed his condolences, saying, "It's not the way you want to start off 2024. Our prayers are with the family, the victim, and we still have a little bit of work to do, but we're certain we'll make an arrest soon."
