The CEO of an Indian AI startup faces arrest after her 4-year-old son was allegedly discovered deceased in her suitcase while she returned from a trip. Suchana Seth, 39, leading The Mindful AI Lab in Bengaluru, was apprehended in Karnataka upon her return from Goa, as per Reuters.

Seth and her son stayed at a Goa hotel, but upon checking out on Monday morning, the child was missing, shared Goa Police Inspector Paresh Naik. Staff noticed blood in her room post-checkout, informing the authorities, according to Reuters. Despite suggestions for a quicker flight, Seth insisted on a taxi back to Bengaluru, CBS News reports.

The situation unfolded when police instructed the taxi driver to head to the nearest station after discovering the boy's body in a suitcase within the cab’s trunk, stated Chitradurga Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Kumar Meena via Times of India.

Reports reveal Seth was photographed in police custody, allegedly covering her face. Medical officers indicated the cause of death as strangulation or smothering, per Dr. Kumar Naik from Hiriyur Taluk Hospital.

Authorities highlighted Seth's ongoing divorce and custody dispute with her estranged husband, citing strained relations during questioning, reported CBS News.
