Dariusz Wolosz, a 46-year-old man from West Drayton, sadly lost his life to a brutal stabbing in January 2022. After a tireless investigation and a dramatic retrial, his killer, Harley-Dee Thompson, is now facing over two decades behind bars.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who led the case, described the attack as "worthy of a man losing his life," highlighting the severity of the stab wounds to Dariusz's groin and chest. He extended his deepest sympathies to Dariusz's family and friends, both in Poland and London, hoping the sentencing brings them some solace.
The fatal incident occurred on January 4th, 2022, during a fight in Tavistock Road, West Drayton. While the initial trial at Harrow Crown Court in May 2023 resulted in a deadlocked jury on the murder charge, Detective Jolley and his team remained relentless. Their dedication paid off at a retrial in Croydon Crown Court in December, where Thompson was finally convicted of murder after just three hours of jury deliberation.
"Seeing justice served twice the hard way shows the unwavering commitment of our police officers," DCI Jolley stated, commending his team's skill and perseverance. "No matter how many times we go to court, we ensure the highest standards of professionalism."
On January 12th, 2024, at Woolwich Crown Court, 29-year-old Harley-Dee Thompson received a life sentence with a minimum term of 24 years, minus time spent on remand. This case serves as a reminder of the unwavering pursuit of justice by dedicated detectives and the consequences of violent crimes.
