Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Arrested in the Dominican Republic on Domestic Violence Charges

Tekashi 6ix9ine, the 27-year-old American rapper, finds himself in legal turmoil once again as he faces arrest in the Dominican Republic on charges of domestic violence, as reported by The Associated Press. Currently held in a Santo Domingo jail, the artist, whose real name is Daniel Hernández, is set to appear in court on Thursday.

The outcome of the hearing will determine whether Tekashi 6ix9ine remains incarcerated or is granted bond during the ongoing investigation.

Known for hits like "Gummo" and "Fefe" with Nicki Minaj, the rapper has a history of legal troubles. Last October, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a record producer in the Dominican Republic.

The status of those charges remains unclear. In August of the same year, Tekashi 6ix9ine faced arrest in Palm Beach, Florida, for traffic-related offenses, including driving without a license tag and using an expired license.

March 2023 saw the artist hospitalized after an attack by three men in a Florida gym bathroom. He addressed the incident on Instagram, acknowledging the lack of rules in street life and expressing gratitude for his fans' support.

Notably, in January 2019, Tekashi 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to nine felony charges, including firearm offenses, and admitted involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Sentenced to two years, he was released early in April 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns.

In October 2018, he received four years of probation and 1,000 hours of community service for a prior arrest related to a child sex case.
