Former Oregon Christian School Principal and Wife Accused of Sexually Abusing Student

A former principal of a Christian school in Oregon and his wife, who was a teacher, have been accused of sexually abusing a girl for four years.

David Alan Wakefield, aged 60, and Rachel Jean Wakefield, aged 54, were recently indicted on multiple counts of sexual abuse, as announced by the Clackamas County Sheriff on February 20.

The alleged abuse reportedly began when the victim, who is now an adult, was just 14 years old.

At the time, David served as the principal and later as the athletic director of Damascus Christian School, while Rachel worked as a substitute teacher and coach.

Authorities revealed that David is facing 20 charges, while Rachel faces 11.

There is concern among law enforcement that there might be other individuals who were also victimized, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The couple's attorney, Zach Stern, stated that David and Rachel vehemently deny the charges and are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to prove their innocence.

In response to the allegations, Damascus Christian School expressed profound sadness, emphasizing that the safety of students and staff is of utmost importance. They have pledged full cooperation with law enforcement.
