A heartbreaking tragedy struck a Louisiana community last week when a high school student was shot and killed.
Eighteen-year-old Jaylin Joiner, a student at Carencro High School, was shot while getting off his school bus on Friday, March 1st. Police arrived at the scene and found Jaylin with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away from his injuries.

A 19-year-old named Malikai Doucet was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting. His bond was set at $35,000. Police are still investigating the motive and say they expect more arrests.
Jaylin's family is devastated and has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses. The community held a candlelight vigil in his memory, and the mayor called the incident "shocking" and expressed her condolences.
