Mother Faces Charges After Heated Argument After Stabbing her baby daddy during a heated argumetn

In Florida, a 31-year-old mother is accused of a serious crime. 

She allegedly killed her baby daddy by stabbing him multiple times during a heated argument. 

This tragic incident happened immediately after neighbors overheard the woman shouting about grabbing a knife.

The suspect, Kaity E. Maldonado, was arrested on Sunday and is facing a charge of second-degree murder. 

Law enforcement officers from the Miami Gardens Police Department rushed to the scene following a 911 call reporting a domestic violence situation at a residence on Northwest 177th Street. 

Witnesses reported hearing intense arguing before the chilling mention of a knife.

Upon arrival, responders discovered Maldonado outside, covered in blood and kneeling in the driveway. 

A bloodied 6-inch butcher knife lay nearby. 

Allegedly, upon seeing the officers, Maldonado confessed to the stabbing, claiming self-defense and indicating the severity of the injuries inflicted on the victim.

Inside the residence, authorities found the victim in critical condition, surrounded by blood. 

Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to Aventura Hospital. 

Investigations revealed that Maldonado and the victim had a tumultuous relationship spanning two years, with them cohabiting for the past five months.

A witness to the tragedy managed to capture part of the altercation on video, depicting a distressing scene where Maldonado allegedly armed herself with the knife following an accusation of being choked. 

The victim's plea for mercy was met with further violence, as Maldonado purportedly attacked him with the knife.

In court proceedings the following day, Maldonado was deemed a probable cause for the murder charge and is currently detained without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
