Six Vanish Without a Trace: Possible Cult Connection Under Investigation

Cartisha Morgan noticed a shift in her daughter, Ma'Kayla. Ma'Kayla, a single mom to a toddler, wasn't herself anymore. The once practical Ma'Kayla started showing interest in unusual things and dressed differently. Though living with her mom and young daughter, Ma'Kayla announced a move with her child to a new house.

Things took a strange turn when Ma'Kayla's employer informed Morgan that her daughter stopped coming to work. When Morgan visited the new house, a stranger with a gun wouldn't let her in, and Ma'Kayla wouldn't see her. This was the last time Morgan saw her daughter and granddaughter.

Five months later, Ma'Kayla, now 26, along with her daughter, 3-year-old Malaiyah, and four other residents from the house vanished without a trace.

Investigators believe they were followers of a man named Rashad Jamal, who is currently in prison for child molestation but not charged in connection with the disappearances.

Police found surveillance footage showing the six missing individuals together on August 6th, 2023. The lead investigator believes they are part of a cult and don't want to be found.

Neighbors reported seeing them meditating in strange ways, which aligns with beliefs reportedly promoted by Jamal.

Jamal, who goes by the name Jeda D, gained a following online through social media platforms like Facebook, spreading conspiracy theories and unconventional ideas.

Despite legal troubles, including a domestic battery charge and a child molestation conviction, Jamal maintains a significant online presence and denies being a cult leader through his publicist.

The story doesn't end there. Reuben Mitchell, who previously lost his daughter to a similar situation, believes Jamal's teachings influenced his daughter's mother. He eventually found his daughter and helped her reconnect with normalcy.

Cartisha Morgan, just like Mitchell, is desperately searching for answers and hoping for a similar reunion.
