A young woman named Sheryl Turner, 19 years old from New Iberia, Louisiana, sadly lost her life.
Investigators believe she was killed by a man she met online.
Sheryl's family last saw her on December 31st, 2023.
She told them she was going to visit Anthony Holland Jr., 29, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
The police say they had been chatting online before she left to meet him.
According to reports, Sheryl's phone was connected to wifi near Anthony's phone until the night of January 2nd.
Her worried twin sister, Sherry, reported her missing on January 3rd because they hadn't heard from her.
Weeks later, on January 24th, a horrifying discovery was made.
Someone found part of a body floating in the Ouachita River.

The police believe the body was deliberately cut up and thrown in the water.
An autopsy confirmed it was a murder, and thanks to DNA testing, investigators identified the remains as Sheryl on February 23rd.
Using evidence and surveillance, the police suspected Anthony.
They searched his home on April 23rd and found signs of a violent crime.
During questioning, Anthony admitted to killing Sheryl in his house.
He also said he cut up her body and threw it in a river.
Anthony Holland Jr. is now in jail, charged with second-degree murder.
Sheryl's family remembers her as a kind and loving person with a bright smile.
