Body Found in Flint River Identified as Missing Houston County Resident, Skyler Black: Investigation Continues
Law enforcement in Georgia have confirmed the tragic discovery of 22-year-old Skyler Black.
His body was found on New Year’s Day in a wooded area near Flint River, Macon County, Georgia.
According to local news outlets, Skyler Black was reported missing on November 29, 2024, by his family.
He was identified through dental records and distinctive tattoos after a detailed forensic investigation conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
This tragic discovery has left both the local police department and the community searching for answers.
On January 1, 2025, hunters stumbled upon a body near Flint River, along Crooks Landing Road in Montezuma, Georgia.
Following the discovery, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
As a result, the body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab for examination, where forensic experts worked tirelessly to confirm the identity of the deceased.
On January 3, 2025, an autopsy performed by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the remains were those of Skyler Black.
“This is an active case, and we are committed to uncovering the truth behind what happened,” stated a GBI spokesperson.
While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of death or potential suspects.
