Jason Santos: Father Pleads Guilty to Rape, Torture of 11-Month-Old Daughter in Ohio Hotel

An 11-month-old girl who was found unresponsive in a hotel room with serious injuries and evidence of sexual assault is now recovering, while her father has admitted to the abuse.

Jason Santos, 38, of New York, was arrested in November 2025 for the abuse of his daughter, and 5 months later, on April 16, 2026, he pleaded guilty to eight total charges:

- One count of Rape of a Child Under 13 Years of Age
- Five counts of Felonious Assault
- One count of Endangering Children by Torture or Cruel Abuse
- One count of Endangering Children by Creating Substantial Risk to Health or Safety of the Child.

On Nov. 22, 2025, law enforcement received a 911 call reporting that an infant had stopped breathing at the Red Roof Inn on South Arlington Road in Akron Ohio.

Springfield Township first responders were dispatched to the hotel and when they arrived at the crime scene, they were able to revive the child, as per Fox 8.

After first responders revived the infant, an immediate assessment revealed multiple fractures on her arms, legs, and ribs, bruising covering her body, and additional injuries to her internal organs.

The baby was then transported to a hospital, where doctors discovered a traumatic brain injury and evidence that she had been raped.

Further medical evaluation revealed a traumatic brain injury, internal bleeding resulting in hemorrhagic shock, and a broken clavicle, and doctors again found evidence consistent with rape and sexual assault.

At the time of the incident, the child had been living at the hotel with Santos and his girlfriend, Jamilee Hunt, who is also from New York. According to the prosecutor's office, Hunt faces similar charges and is scheduled for trial on April 21, 2026.

During questioning, Santos told investigators that a dog had jumped on the child in an attempt to explain the injuries, but medical professionals found no evidence that an animal was responsible for the attack.

In a statement, Prosecutor Kolkovich said the infant's survival "is nothing short of extraordinary" and credited the swift actions of Springfield Township police officers, as well as the dedication of social workers and medical staff at Akron Children's Hospital.

"Their efforts ensured this child received the care and protection she desperately needed," Kolkovich said. "I am grateful she is now safe and beginning to recover from the despicable abuse she endured."

Santos now faces a possible sentence of life in prison, and his sentencing is set for April 21, 2026. For updates on this case and other high-profile true crime stories sign up for our free newsletter here.
