Decomposing Body Of An Engineer Found In His Apartment With A Note From The killer, Police Launch Manhunt For Suspect
The brutal murder of construction engineer Humphrey Uchenna Nnaji has sparked an investigation by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command. Nnaji's decomposing body was discovered in his apartment in the Dawaki area of the FCT on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
According to reports, Nnaji was killed by unknown assailants who gained access to his apartment. The smell emanating from his residence alerted neighbors, who then notified the police. Upon entering the apartment, officers found Nnaji's remains seated on a chair.
Musa, a commercial driver in the area, shared his account, stating that the police arrived to retrieve the corpse on Saturday evening. The decomposed state of the body indicated that the incident likely occurred before that day. The neighborhood remains in shock, trying to comprehend the tragic event. The house has been cordoned off as investigations continue.
A source within the FCT Police Command revealed that during the examination of the crime scene, a hammer was found next to Nnaji's body, along with a written note allegedly implicating an individual named Alfa. According to the note, Alfa claimed to be seeking revenge for the death of his sister and accused Nnaji of involvement in fraudulent activities.
The police spokesperson for the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
