Tennessee Surgeon Shot and Killed by Patient at Clinic

A patient at a Tennessee clinic carried out a targeted attack, shooting and killing Dr. Benjamin Mauck, a surgeon, on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at the Campbell Clinic Orthopedics in Collierville, a town near Memphis, where the gunman had been waiting for several hours.

Collierville Police Chief Dale Lane stated that it appeared to be a one-on-one interaction between the gunman, who was a patient, and Dr. Mauck.

The shooter fired a handgun, immediately fled the scene, and was apprehended by police just five minutes later without resistance. The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
