Florida Abduction Case: Woman Escapes Captivity After Being Held In A Dog Cage, Four Suspects Apprehended

Four people were taken into custody in Florida following the alleged abduction of a woman in her 40s.

She was reportedly held captive in a dog cage but managed a daring escape by knocking on neighbors' doors for help.

The arrested individuals are Monica Latresis Reed, 37, Cortez Jackson, 39, Kevin Holmes, 21, and Damon Tromp, 19.

They are now facing charges, including armed kidnapping with intent to commit a crime and false imprisonment with a weapon, as stated by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition, Reed has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm for allegedly pistol-whipping the victim in the cheek while she was being held captive.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, the use of the firearm in this way could have caused severe injury or permanent disfigurement.

The affidavit details that Reed and the other three suspects forcibly confined, abducted, or imprisoned the victim against her will with the intention of causing her bodily harm or terror.

This was apparently done to extract information about the victim's address in connection with a potential stolen item.

The victim was reportedly coerced into a vehicle at gunpoint, where her hands were bound with a cord.

Her hands and feet were then duct-taped, and her mouth was covered. When she tried to escape, Jackson, Holmes, and Tromp allegedly physically restrained her in the car.

Subsequently, she was confined to a dog cage in Reed's backyard. Despite these dire circumstances, the victim somehow managed to escape.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to her plea for help after she knocked on a door in Pine Hills, Florida.

She informed them that she had just escaped from being held against her will in a cage on a nearby property.

As of Monday, there are no further updates available about the case from the sheriff's office.
