G4S Armored Vehicle Ambushed And Robbed in Limpopo: Suspects Escape with Money

In an alarming incident, a group of heavily armed individuals managed to escape with an undisclosed sum of money, following a robbery involving a cash van in Ramongwerane, Limpopo.

According to Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Matimba Maluleke, the armed men apparently ambushed and successfully robbed a G4S armored vehicle on Monday.

It is alleged that on August 7, 2023, around 6:00 PM, security guards from G4S were driving along the main road in Ramongwerane towards Tafelkop when they were overtaken by a white Isuzu pickup truck.

Suddenly, the occupants of the Isuzu began firing at the G4S armored vehicle, forcing it to come to a halt.

Another vehicle, a Black Porsche, reportedly arrived at the scene, and a group of about 12 heavily armed men approached the stationary armored vehicle, as described by Lt-Col Maluleke.

Reportedly, the armed men ordered the security guards out of the vehicle and disarmed them of two firearms along with ammunition.

Following this, they reportedly blew open the safes and made their escape, taking with them an unspecified amount of money.

As no arrests have been made thus far, the Hawks in Limpopo Province are appealing to the public for any information that may help in identifying and apprehending the suspects.

People are urged to contact Lieutenant Colonel Nkoana Makutu at 071 481 2461 or share information through the crime stop number at 08600 10111 or via the MY SAPS APP, as highlighted by Maluleke.
