Tragedy Strikes Quiet Village: Beloved Woman Succumbs to Shooting Incident




In a quiet village in Leicestershire, a tragic incident has left the community mourning the loss of a beloved woman. Carrie Slater, a 37-year-old resident of Long Clawson, was shot on Thursday and succumbed to her injuries two days later. 

This heartbreaking event has shaken the close-knit village.


Carrie's family is devastated by the loss of their daughter and beloved sister. In a heartfelt statement, they expressed their love for her and their struggle to come to terms with her untimely death. They also mentioned her roots in Grantham and how people there will be devastated to hear of her passing.

The post-mortem report revealed that Ms. Slater's cause of death was a gunshot wound. 

The tragic incident has led to the arrest of Richard Basson, a resident of Long Clawson. He has been charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of ammunition without a certificate. 

Richard is scheduled to appear before magistrates court on Monday, September 25.


Leicestershire Police have clarified that no other individuals are being sought in connection with this incident, and they continue to conduct reassurance patrols to maintain community safety.
