Tragic Consequences: Young Woman Faces Charges in Fatal DUI Crash

A 27-year-old woman from Texas is facing accusations of causing a fatal car crash while allegedly driving under the influence. She told the police that she had a margarita at a dog-friendly bar with her husky named Tequila before getting behind the wheel.

Lynlee Pollis, who is from the University of Kentucky, admitted to running a red light in her Lexus, colliding with the car of 19-year-old Honor Elizabeth Wallace, a sophomore at Southern Methodist University, leading to her tragic death.

A passenger in Wallace's car also suffered a broken collarbone in the incident, which happened around 4 p.m. on a Sunday at Monticello Avenue and the North Central Expressway service road, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by a local newspaper.

Pollis stated that after taking her ADHD medication, she had consumed one drink at a trendy bar with a dog park called Mutts Canine Cantina before driving away with her dog, Tequila.

At the hospital, police observed that Pollis had glassy eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol on her, leading to her arrest on charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. She was released on a $100,000 bond, as confirmed by a court clerk to Fox News Digital.

Following the crash, it appears that Pollis deleted her Instagram and Facebook accounts, which previously showcased her social activities involving drinking and her dog, Tequila. According to her LinkedIn profile, Pollis works in hospitality management and had recently been employed at Vandelay Hospitality Group, overseeing approximately ten high-end restaurants.

The identity of her attorney was not immediately available.

A resident living on Monticello Avenue, Ron English, recounted hearing the crash and rushing outside to assist. He described the incident as "horrible" and expressed his thoughts about it throughout the week, especially upon learning the young age of those involved. Neighbors attempted to rescue Wallace by pulling her from the car and administering CPR, but unfortunately, she had already passed away.

The university released a statement expressing its grief over Wallace's passing, with KC Mmeje, vice president for student affairs, stating, "The SMU community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Honor Wallace. Honor was a valued member of our community, and we offer our heartfelt condolences and support to all who are affected by this loss."

In an email to faculty and students, it was revealed that Wallace, hailing from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, had recently embarked on her sophomore year and was pursuing degrees in Spanish and English.

In another tragic turn of events, Grant Bradley has been found guilty of the murder of his former friend, Marcus Dunkerton, in a pub altercation that culminated in a fatal stabbing. See detailed story here
