Insights from Craig Ross Jr.'s Ex-Girlfriend: Possible Motive Behind Charlotte Sena's Kidnapping Revealed By Abductors Ex

In a surprising turn of events, the ex-girlfriend of the suspected abductor of Charlotte Sena has put forward a theory about his possible motive. According to her, the abductor may have targeted Sena's family with the intention of securing a ransom, particularly because he was aware of her grandfather's $2.2 million lawsuit settlement resulting from a sledding accident.

New York State Police have been notably tight-lipped about the case since Sena's miraculous rescue during a dramatic raid on Craig Ross Jr.'s trailer. However, Amanda Preece, who briefly dated Ross Jr., shared insights with The Daily Mail, suggesting that he had a penchant for avoiding work and relied on others for financial support.

Preece explained, "Charlotte's grandfather sued the town of Greenfield years ago, and people around Saratoga are aware of this. I think that's why he held her ransom, hoping to get a share of the money due to his financial struggles."

Law enforcement officials traced Ross Jr. after he allegedly left a ransom note in Sena's family mailbox, demanding $50,000. Preece believed that this sum would have sustained him for several years, given his financial situation and prior knowledge of Sena's family residence.

Preece suspected premeditation in the abduction, mentioning a tarp Ross Jr. erected over his RV windows a few months prior. This tarp, as reported by Daily Mail, raised concerns among neighbors, including Michael, who preferred to withhold his last name to protect his family, and later spoke with Fox News Digital.

Michael recalled the sudden appearance of the tarp on the side of Ross Jr.'s RV facing his house, initially attributing it to a potential leak. However, in hindsight, he questioned whether it was connected to something more sinister or preplanned.

Ross Jr. left fingerprints on the ransom note, which matched a record from his 1999 DUI arrest. This pivotal clue led law enforcement to identify Ross Jr. as the primary suspect and subsequently launch a swift and forceful operation, as described by neighbors who witnessed dozens of police vehicles and SWAT teams descending upon the quiet upstate New York neighborhood.

During the operation, officers armed with long guns and tactical gear utilized flashbangs to apprehend Ross Jr., who resisted arrest. Governor Kathy Hochul confirmed that Charlotte Sena was found alive in a cabinet during this operation. While specific details about Sena's condition were not disclosed, authorities indicated that there appeared to be no visible harm, and she was reported to be in good health. Sena is currently undergoing evaluation and recovery in a hospital.

Jene Sena, her aunt, expressed their family's elation over Sena's safe return, sharing with Fox News Digital via text: "We are just elated she came home."

Governor Hochul emphasized that such stories rarely end positively, but in this case, Charlotte Sena would be returning home. Charlene, Sena's mother, beamed with happiness as she looked forward to reuniting with her daughter.

Craig Ross Jr. has been charged with first-degree kidnapping and is being held without bond in Saratoga County jail. Authorities hinted at the possibility of additional charges being filed as the investigation unfolds.
